The Hidden Brain Trick That Triples Your Energy and Focus
Why You Feel Drained By 6 PM - and How to Fix It
Did you know your brain operates in distinct cognitive cycles throughout the day - and mismatching tasks to your energy zones can cut your productivity by half?
That used to be me.
For years, I ended my days feeling completely wiped out. Yet with very little to show for it.
I wasn’t even distracted. I was simply mismanaging my energy.
I’d flip between writing a proposal, answering DMs, hopping on Zooms, then trying to “squeeze in” course or a podcast episode after dinner.
The result?
Scattered focus. Constant fatigue. Zero momentum.
But then I heard about a new technique that help manage my schedule and things started to get much better.
Today I’m sharing with you the exact method I use to get more done - while feeling more calm, focused, and even fulfilled at the end of the day.
It’s not about squeezing more hours in.
Let’s break it down.

The Real Problem: You’re Not Just Losing Time - You’re Leaking Energy
I used to end my days wondering, “How am I this exhausted, yet didn’t finish half of what I planned?”
But now I divide my day into three focus zones based on my natural energy patterns.
Day 1: 6 AM – 12 PM | Create
Your mind is at its clearest in the morning - ready for deep, creative, and strategic work.
✨ Ideal for:
Writing, designing, brainstorming
Tackling complex problems
Working on big-picture goals
🚫 Skip: emails, calls, and admin. Those can wait.
Let your creativity take the lead here.
Day 2: 12 PM – 5 PM | Connect
As your social and verbal energy rises, this is your window to interact, respond, and collaborate.
✨ Ideal for:
Meetings and Zoom calls
Responding to emails and Slack
Delegating, following up, and coordinating
This is the “people” part of your day. Make the most of it.
Day 3: 5 PM – 9 PM | Learn & Recharge
Evenings aren’t just for scrolling. They’re for recharging with intention.
✨ Ideal for:
Listening to audiobooks or inspiring podcasts
Going to the gym or walking outside
Journaling or reviewing your day
Cooking or reading something just for you
Even if it’s low-key, this time still matters.
It’s how you restore your mind and body for tomorrow.
Personalize It: Your Rhythm Might Look Different
Not everyone is most creative in the morning - and that’s okay.
Some people find their flow late at night. Others get their best ideas while walking mid-afternoon. The key is to observe your own patterns and build your day around them.
Your version of the “3 Days in 1” might start at 10 AM and end at midnight. What matters is intentionality, not a rigid schedule.
Action Plan: Try This Tomorrow
Here's how to bring it to life:
Block your calendar into three focus zones
Match the type of work to the energy you feel in that block
Protect your creative time like it’s a meeting with your future self
Try it for one day - and notice how different you feel by 6 PM.
